And the FX seems very impressive knowing they have a lot of time until the release date. I didn't get any WOTW vibe (although I like that movie). It sounds intriguing and dark, a nice surprise, I was expecting something less darker. And Keanu... man, Keanu just was made for science fiction roles. The scenes of him being interrogated remember the ones in A Scanner Darkly. Call me impressed, I will put my faith Derrickson actually brings a good new movie out of that. |

Seriously, I'm so sick of these kinds of movies. Remake or not, just looks fucking boring. War of the Worlds, the Invasion, etc. Give me something original, something with a little flavor, a little imagination! |

Keanu is 50/50 in my book but I think this is a role that could work for him.
The beam at the end coming from "something" certainly looks like Gort-esque to me. Very curious to see how this all comes togather. |

I've always loved the original but, yeah, it could stand to be updated. So, hopefully, this'll be a good, updated remake (like 'The Fly') and not a $#!+, pointless remake (like 'The Hitcher').
And, yeah, I've always enjoyed Reeves and his off-center charisma too (and I usually find him far more consistently entertaining than most Hollywood A-Listers these days). |
