Okay honestly, I love Palahniuk, he asked politely to touch my bewb with a fake bloody hand...but Rant was a miss for me. What about Lullaby? Or Survivor? Or Diary? Of course, Invisible Monsters. |

MORE PALAHNIUK PLEASE
I wanna see his short story "Guts" made into a feature. Or maybe it could be an episode of "Masters of Horror"-series. |

BUSTER IS WHO?
Not sure if these guys would be good as Buster, but Id like to see these guys involved in his book to movie adaptations: Billy Bob Thornton, Benicio DT, Gary Oldman all would be stellar. But I think Buster could honestly be best played by Mr Loverboy himself Ryan Gosling. That kids got chops. |

Invisible Monsters could make for one of the best movies ever made. Survivor would be pretty awesome too. Chuck's later novels don't compare to his early work, sadly. He got tired of his critics complaining that he always writes the same sort of books. But those sorts of books were what was so so great at. As soon as he stopped writing like that, he lost his spark. This includes Rant. Oh well. |

Thank you for that educated response. I've read a few of Chuck's books and my fav is 'Haunted'. I saw 'Fight Club' before I read it and I don't think the book lived up to the film version.
You can't hate King - he's the King.
Leave Patterson alone because no one writes well enough to get that many people to read that much.
Dan Brown - take him or leave, but I still find his work entertaining.
Everyone should try Michael Slade for serious horror. Headhunter and Ghoul are his best and blow most of today's writers away.
It's nice to see that this many people still read books! Peace everyone. |

LOL AT BENJ
benj; I like Stephen King, but the groupthink went from trashing him unduly to heaping the praise on a little thick. He's a good storyteller but lacks a strong voice - something he himself admits.
It's nice to see I touched the same nerve you did, when you casually discarded Chuck. Neither are Steinbeck, but shouldn't be dismissed either. |

Agree with JayYork, Survivor is his best work to date imo. It's definitely on the cards for 2010 I think. Would like to see Ben Foster for that |

MY FAVE PALAHNIUK
Vinic - GREAT call noting it as the adults' Maniac Magee. I loved that book as a kid and this is my favorite Palahniuk now (I, too, have read all his works)... as for who would play Casey? Hmmm... tough question. I got a pretty good vision of what I thought he looked and acted like from the testimonies in the book but I can't place an actor who would fit it. |

I CAN DIG IT
I've read all of Palahniuk's novels. This was a good if very disturbing (maybe more so than the average Palahniuk) novel.
It would actually be very difficult I think to convey everything the book does, especially the whole rabies and night timer aspects of it.
'Snuff' is a fucking awesome book. it would make a great (if NC-17) film

HATING?
Why are people hating on this? Fight Club might be "overrated" but admit it, it was awesome. And Choke looks to be pretty good too.
Although i haven't read this book. I'm looking forward to it because it's a Chuck [btw, many people know who he is where i live].
I want them to do Survivor, his best novel. |
