MIGHT HAVE SOME HOPE LEFT...
Despite mixed review over the last movie, i find that Riddick has the ability to shift its story in terms of depth. Somewhat like the Alien movies. A third (Or fourth if you count the animated Dark Fury) might just be what the doctor ordered |

Like I stated in another thread - They need to go back to the planet and see if there are any survivors of Hunter/Gratzner. They had a great new age alien type movie and they completely negated that.
They need to stick w/ the alien species. its such a fascinating thing and I don't know why they had nothing to do with the 2nd movie.
They got to far fetched when they introduced world destroying soul eaters. Riddick could have been "our generations" Aliens.

I'M THERE
Riddick is one of the surprisingly few series to do a good job providing balls-out action in a sci-fi setting. Most sci-fi universes spend most of their time talking (you know who you are), and/or are set on Earth. Honestly, the only solid action films I can think of, set in space, providing comparable levels of violence would be Alien 1 & 2. I suppose it comes of having an "R" rating -- you just can't do a decent PG action film, and not many writer/directors have taken on the challenge of representing serious violence in space.
Possibly because, on the face of it, street-fighting with fists and knives just doesn't make a whole lot of sense in a civilization with warp drives...wouldn't they be using lasers or something? Nonetheless, that's exactly what Pitch Black and Chronicles delivered: First Blood and Rambo in space. Sign me up for 3 and 4! |

DREAMING?
Hopefully one day my dream might come true, when the studio just says "f@#k it" and makes RIDDICK VS ALIENS VS PREDATOR. I would GEEK OUT big time. |

HERE IS ME HOLDING MY BREATH
I would like it if they made the underverse a footnote at the sequels beginning revealed to be another sham of a cult/religion, a lie started by the first lord marshal, L Ron Hubbard style. Then get into some good old violent action. I just don't have the imagination to conjure a decent adversary. |

I liked Chronicles and I think they could make an entertaining sequel. My inner fanboy wants the light sensitive aliens from the original to have a small cameo. |

The thing about a sequel is that they would have to follow the director's cut of TCoR. The director's cut was bounds better than the butchered theatrical cut. |

Mmmmm ... I wants it! I wants it NOW!
I don't know why so many people didn't like "Chronicles." Personally, I think it's better than all three "Star Wars" prequels combined (no joke). But hey, that's just my opinion.
And to all those people saying that the next movie should be smaller in scale, like "Pitch Black," uh-uh. Wouldn't work. You can go from a small setting to a larger one, but not vice versa. That's part of the reason "Alien 3" blew. You just can't go backwards scope-wise. |
