Wall-E DVD deets! Aug. 25, 2008
Source: VideoETA
by: Mike Sampson

Lost amongst the never ending DARK KNIGHT hype this summer was just how amazing WALL-E was. Like TDK, you can expect a push for a Best Picture Oscar later this year (which would be the geekiest Oscars ever - Batman vs. Pixar?!). Now VideoETA has some details on the WALL-E DVD and what you can expect. The Pixar guys have never skimped on the details and this time there's no shortage of material. Both standard and Blu-ray discs will be available in a whopping 3-disc special edition! Extras haven't been listed yet but we do know that a digital copy of the film (for use on your iPod) will be made available. For those not looking to plunk down $40 on a DVD, both Blu-ray and standard DVDs will be available in a 2-disc copy as well (isn't it weird how the 2-disc DVDs are becoming the standard when they used to be the special?). WALL-E hits DVD shelves on November 18th, just in time for the holiday season and to remind those Oscar voters that there's a little animated robot who deserves some love...

Extra Tidbit: A Pixar assistant's voice was modulated to create EVE.

BEAUTIFUL
Loved this movie, best flick of the year, can't wait to watch it a few hundred times at home (where I can weep openly).

THERE ARE SOME SPECS ALREADY...
Just thought you'd like this heads-up, guys :D

Taken from this link:

http://tinyurl.com/6zwxtp

Extras on the Blu-ray will contain all of the DVD bonus features, including audio commentary with director Andrew Stanton, five featurettes ("Animation Sound Design: Building Worlds from the Sound Up," "Sneak Peek: WALL-E's Tour of the Universe," "The Pixar Story by Leslie Iwerks," "BnL Shorts," "Wall-E's Treasures and Trinkets"), deleted scenes, the new animated short: "Burn-E" and a "Lots of Bots" storybook.Treasures and Trinkets"), deleted scenes, the new animated short: 'Burn-E and a 'Lots of Bots" storybook'

Included on a second disc will be a Digital Copy of the film (in standard-def) playable on PCs and other portable video devices.

Exclusive to the Blu-ray release will be additional picture-in-picture commentary, and a suite of three as-yet-untitled interactive games.

Hope this helps :D

LA VIE EN ROSE...
I enjoyed Wall-E much more than TDK. Sorry to say. Wall-E was amazing, but not my fav. Pixar film. I enjoyed Jeff Garlin getting some work in there as the Capt. That dude is a funny SOB.

AWESOME
great news, but didn't Cars and Ratatouille only have 1 disc releases and had only like 1 or 2 special features, prevelant in ratatouille mostly.

A 3-disc DVD? I'm impressed. But a movie like Wall-E deserves the treatment too.

I seriously doubt both will be considered for Best Picture, with movies like Benjamin Button, Body of Lies, Milk, The Road and Miracle at St. Anna. But if it were to happen, it really would be a geek fight come true on the biggest stage possible.

WELL...
if Double- Disc sets are becoming standard, then I'm a happy movie fan. I'm still kinda mad about slapping down $40 to get the Three-disc set for Hellboy II: The Golden Army and another $60-70 for the "Ultimate Editions" of Iron Man and The Dark Knight. Funny thing is, I haven't even done these things yet, but I know I will.
