Im soo excited for this.. I'm happy with all of the casting, and I think Haley might actually be a better casting choice than Pegg. I haven't really seen Pegg (as much as I love the guy) take on any serious roles. |

Agreed, Perlman has the build for The Comedian but he doesn't really look the part. After all, Gibbons has said he modeled his look after Erol Flynn, and I think Morgan pulls off that look much better than Perlman would've.
Also agree that while Goode is a tremendous actor he's a little young for Ozymondias (Goode was 29 during filming, while Ozy is 49). You can deduce most of the characters ages by using the dates provided in Under the Hood. |

CASTING
Pearlman would have been great for personality and voice, but he doesn't look the part. And you need a younger actor so you can go back in time and have it work. I like the effect X3 used, but it would be too difficult to do that with all of the characters for a longer length of time.
Cruise as Ozymandias would have been perfect. Pretty much the only casting I've seen that I didn't like was that part. You needed someone a little older for it. Someone in their forties.
Bye the way, there's no question that this is going to LOOK great, but the story is pretty complex for a single film, especially if it's under two hours. Is anyone else worried Snyder is in over his head as a storyteller? 300 was okay, but pretty A to B if you know what I mean. |

PEGG AS RORSCHACH...
...was just a rumor that was floating around a couple of years ago. Back when Paul Greengrass was attached he was planning on Paddy Considine playing the part, Aaronofsky's involvement in the project was so brief he never get around to casting, and Snyder imagined Haley in the role from the beginning. Although Pegg said at one point that he was interested in the role, there's no evidence that he was ever actually in consideration for it.
The other two are legit though. Cruise and Snyder actually had several meetings about him playing Ozymandias, and two of the films producers, Lawrence Gordon and Lloyd Levin, met with Perlman about playing The Comedian (but the shooting schedule conflicted with Hellboy II). I think they both would've been great for the parts although I think Jude Law (who was in talks with both Greengrass and Snyder) would've made an even better Ozymandias. |

Ron Perlman as The Comedian: I definitely could see it and it wouldn't have been a bad fit at all...
Simon Pegg as Rorschach: Not sure to be honest...Not sure how good he may be at serious roles...
Tom Cruise as Ozymandias: I could see that too... |
